Supertram essential engineering works - Easter

Supertram will be carrying out essential rail replacement works on sections of track between City Road and Spring Lane tram stop over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

The rail replacement works are scheduled to take place from the evening of Thursday 14 April until start of service Tuesday 19 April and will affect Blue and Purple Route tram services.

These works form part of an ongoing maintenance programme and are critical to extend the lifespan of the tram network and maintain the reliable, comfortable and safe level of service.

How will the works affect tram services?

On Good Friday 15 April and Saturday 16 April, a Saturday service will operate. On Easter Sunday 17 April and Bank Holiday Monday 18 April, a Sunday service will operate.

From Friday 15 April until Monday 18 April inclusive trams will operate as follows:

  • Blue Route tram services will operate between Sheffield Station and Malin Bridge only

  • Purple Route tram services will not operate

  • Yellow Route and Tram Train services are not affected and will operate as normal but to a revised timetable.
