Coronavirus: How to pay for travel

last updated 5 June 2020

To minimise contact, use contactless payment options instead of cash. This includes using a preloaded smartcard, which you can load your travel ticket to at machines in our interchanges to further reduce contact.

If you still wish to pay by cash, you can load travel onto a TravelMaster card at one of over 900 Payzone outlets, but please only visit these when buying essentials to avoid making unnecessary journeys.

If you need to pay by cash on board, please make sure you have the exact fare to minimise contact with the driver.

A range of 1-Day, 7-Day and 28-Day tickets are available, and you can choose a ticket which can be used on one operator, or multi-operator:

1-Day tickets:

Got a Stagecoach smartcard? Buy a 1-Day CityBus, CityWide, SYConnect or RConnect on bus or tram, or a Stagecoach Dayrider on any Stagecoach bus or tram.

You can also buy 1-day TravelMaster tickets through the First mTickets app and Stagecoach Bus app.

7-Day tickets:

You can buy 7-Day TravelMaster tickets such as CityWide, CityBus and regional tickets such as BConnect, RConnect and DonConnect on a TravelMaster or Stagecoach smartcard on bus or tram. Stagecoach 7-Day tickets will also be available on a Stagecoach or TravelMaster smartcard on any Stagecoach bus or tram*.

Contactless payments

Contactless payments are accepted on First Buses in Rotherham, Doncaster and Sheffield for purchasing Adult singles or day tickets and on board Stagecoach Buses throughout South Yorkshire for all tickets costing less than £30.
