Supertram essential engineering works - Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 August
From the evening of Saturday 20 August until start of service Monday 22 August Supertram will be carrying out essential rail replacement works on both the inbound and outbound track on South Street Bridge. These works will affect Blue and Purple Route tram services.
These works form part of their ongoing maintenance programme and are critical to extend the lifespan of the tram network and maintain the reliable, comfortable and safe level of service customers have come to expect.
Supertram has posted letters to all affected local residents and businesses notifying them of the proposed works and any disruptions they may cause.
Trams will operate as follows:

Blue Route tram services will operate between Cricket Inn Road and Malin Bridge only.

The following stops will not be served: Sheffield Station/Sheffield Hallam University, Granville Road/The Sheffield College, Park Grange Croft, Park Grange, Arbourthorne Road, Spring Lane, Manor Top, Hollinsend, Gleadless Townend, White Lane, Birley Lane, Birley Moor Road, Hackenthorpe, Donetsk Way, Moss Way, Crystal Peaks, Beighton/Drakehouse Lane, Waterthorpe, Westfield and Halfway tram stops.

Purple Route tram services will not operate

Yellow Route services are not affected and will operate as normal but to a revised timetable

Tram Train services are not affected by these works. However, services may be affected by industrial action on the rail network proposed for Saturday 20 August.
Alternative services
Dedicated tram replacement bus
On Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 August, TM Travel will be operating service B1, a dedicated tram replacement bus service, between Commercial Street in the city centre and Halfway. The service will operate up to every 20 minutes.

Local bus services
For many journeys, there are existing bus routes that offer alternative travel options:

Stagecoach service 120 provides links between Halfway, Manor Top and the city centre.

First services 8/8a provides links between Crystal Peaks, Moss Way, Hackenthorpe, Birley and the city centre.

Stagecoach services 50, 53 and 80a provide links between Birley Moor Road and the city centre.

TM Travel service 252 provides a link between Gleadless Townend and Crystal Peaks

First service 1a provides links between Herdings Park and the city centre

First service 51 provides links between Gleadless Townend, Hollinsend Road and the city centre.
Ticket information
To help provide travel options for those who need to use public transport during these works, tickets purchased on Supertram, including Stagecoach bus/tram tickets will also be valid on the replacement bus service (B1) operated by TM Travel.
Please note that Tram Only and Stagecoach bus/tram tickets cannot be purchased from drivers on the B1 bus service, however, the following ticket range, which can be used on replacement bus and tram travel, is available

£2.00 - Short distance single fare

£2.80 - Long distance single fare

£3.40 - Short distance return fare

£4.60 - Day Rider fare
Citybus, Citywide and normally available concessionary/child tickets are also available on service B1.
Valid tram tickets will also be accepted on Stagecoach and First service 120 between the city centre, Manor Top and Halfway, and on First service 51 between White Lane, Gleadless Townend, Hollinsend Road and city.
