Summer 2024 Network Improvements: Gleadless Townend to Halfway

Improvement works will be taking place around White Lane, Crystal Peaks and Waterthorpe, resulting in temporary service changes.

Network improvements will take place from Saturday 20 July to Friday 02 August (2 weeks) from Gleadless Townend to Halfway.

During the works, there will be some temporary changes to tram services.

A revised Blue route will operate between Malin Bridge and Herdings Park via Gleadless Townend (replacing the Purple route), and a dedicated bus service will replace trams between Gleadless Townend and Halfway. All other services will operate as normal.

Further information about the temporary changes to tram services, the tram replacement bus service and bus stopping points are available on this page.

Tram services from Gleadless Townend to Halfway are expected to resume on Saturday 03 August.

In March, South Yorkshire Supertram came back under public control after 27 years. South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) is now investing around £5m this year to future proof and extend the lifespan of our tram network.

For further information about how we're investing in the network, see our Network Improvements page.
