Magna Tram Train Station Project
Work on the new station and Park and Ride is progressing to its next stage
South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority is investing more than £9 million on a new Tram Train station and Park and Ride at Magna, Rotherham.
A normal Saturday Tram Train service was reinstated from Saturday 6 December.

The new station on the Tram Train route will provide connection to the Magna Science Adventure Centre, local businesses and the wider Templeborough area.
100 park and ride spaces will also be made available, along with cycle parking and electric vehicle charging, helping to reduce congestion and pollution within the Lower Don Valley and A6178 corridor.

All routes operate as normal
Blue, Purple, Tram Train and Yellow route services are not affected by the Magna Tram Train Station project.
Work on the new station has progressed to its next stage, with Saturday evening Tram Train route closures no longer required. Normal service was reinstated from Saturday 6 December.
Check our Network Improvements page for details of renewal and improvement works elsewhere in the network which may cause temporary changes to services.
Construction of the new station and Park and Ride at Magna takes place on private land away from main roads, so there will be no effect on local buses. Vehicles and materials required for the construction work will need to use the local road network, and in some cases may result in a small increase in noise and dust. Efforts will be made to avoid busier times to reduce the impact on other road users.
