Bus fares: £2 cap extended to October 2023

The £2 fare cap on buses in South Yorkshire will stay in place until the end of October.
The Government hopes the scheme will support communities with the cost of living and help bus companies.
£2 fares are available on any one-way bus ride, anywhere in South Yorkshire.
Some of the longest routes in our region include:

  • Service 59 (Barnsley - Monk Bretton - Carlton - Royston - Notton - Newmillerdam - Sandal - Wakefield)

  • Service 98 (Doncaster – Bawtry – Everton – Misterton – Walkeringham - Gainsborough)

  • Service X17 (Barnsley – Meadowhall – Sheffield – Chesterfield – Matlock – Wirksworth)

  • Services 19 and 19A (Rotherham - Wickersley - Thurcroft - Dinnington - North Anston - Woodsetts - Worksop)

  • Service X78 (Sheffield - Attercliffe - Meadowhall - Masbrough - Rotherham - Thrybergh - Conisbrough – Balby - Doncaster). 

The £2 limit will continue on single Supertram tickets until 30 June. Bus fares will remain capped at £2 until 31 October, when the cap will rise to £2.50.
