Attercliffe and Arena/Olympic Legacy Park tram shelter replacement

Updated 25th January 2024

The shelters at the Attercliffe and Arena/Olympic Legacy Park tram stops will be replaced in the new year. The replacement of the four shelters, along with new bins and some additional fencing at Arena/Olympic Legacy Park, is being funded by Sheffield City Council, via their Levelling Up Fund Connectivity and Movement scheme at Attercliffe. Improved connectivity and enhanced pedestrian and cycling experience in the area will create a safer, healthier and more attractive environment.

When will the works be taking place?

Works, to be carried out by Macemain Amstad, are expected to start on Wednesday 3 January 2024 and will involve the installation of four, 8 bay cantilever shelters with half ends and new litter bins as follows:

Attercliffe

•    Towards Sheffield – works have been completed
•    Towards Meadowhall – works are ongoing with an anticipated completion date of Friday 2 February 2024.

Arena/Olympic Legacy Park

Works are expected to take place between Friday 5 February and Friday 1 March as follows:
  • Towards Meadowhall – Friday 5 February – Friday 16 February
  • Towards Sheffield – Monday 19 February – Friday 1 March

Attercliffe and Arena/Olympic Legacy Park tram stops will remain open throughout the works, but the shelters will be cordoned off until the new shelters are in place. There will be no impact on tram services.

Real time information display will be disconnected but timetable information will be attached to the temporary fencing.
