Slings Express

To help increase travel confidence on the trains, promote how accessible they are whilst travelling with a baby, showcase one of the exceptional destinations on our network and encourage new friendship connections we invited 10 parents from Darnall to join us on a scenic train journey to Edale in the beautiful Peak District National Park.

The group enjoyed a bespoke professional sling fitting, sling loan, travel planning advice, short guided walk and a tour of the visitors centre as well as tea and cake at the village hall. Despite the overcast and slightly wet weather, a good day was had by all with some participants planning on returning to the village by train that weekend to explore further.

The event was organised by South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority and the Sheffield Sling Library and supported by High Peak & Hope Valley Community Rail Partnership, Northern railway, East Midlands Railway and the Peak District National Park.

If you are a parent with a baby who lives in South Yorkshire and would benefit from an experience similar to this please get in touch with Cathrine Ashworth.
