Supertram supports Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day 2024 with free travel
As the region pays their respects this Armistice Day, it’s an opportunity for us to give thanks to those who risk their lives for our country, both then and now.
Supertram has an emotive connection with the armed forces, with many veterans working within the business today.
As a small token of our respect and gratitude to those who have served past and present, we will be offering free travel on Sunday 10th November and Monday 11th November to:
-
Veterans wearing medals or a veteran badge
-
Armed Forces personnel in uniform or with a Military ID
Nigel Wragg, Commercial Manager at South Yorkshire Supertram, said:
“Remembrance Day is an important day of reflection across the country, honouring all those who served our country with bravery, and those who still do.
“We are proud to offer free Supertram travel to serving military personnel and veterans alike across the network.
“With this small gesture we hope to demonstrate our gratitude by making it as easy as possible for people to attend local events.”
Serving armed forces personnel and veterans just have to show their relevant, badge, uniform or ID to a conductor onboard a tram to secure free travel.
Our tram drivers reserve the right to observe the 2-minute silence at 11am on both days, if safe to do so, so we kindly ask for your patience on board should this affect your journey.
As always, our trams will proudly display their poppies on the front and rear.
