Supertram on a bridge


If you're travelling to the city centre for an event, why not use Supertram? The City Hall, Sheffield's Utilita Arena and Crucible are all within a minute or two from a tram stop, and mean you don't have to worry about parking, bus links, or your carbon footprint.

Tram tickets can be bought from our conductor on-board, or for better value, tickets can be purchased in advance through the TSY Mobile app.

Sheffield events this summer

⇒ Sheffield Grand Prix 17 July 

In it’s 10th year, Sheffield will be part of the British Cycling National Circuit Race Series. ‘Rock up and ride’: The Sheffield Grand Prix circuit will open to the public before racing starts to give everyone the chance to cycle the outdoor city, traffic free. Rock up & ride, scoot or wheel your way round the pro-circuit with Olympic champion and South Yorkshire’s Active Travel Commissioner, Ed Clancy OBE

Grab your bucket and spade and head down to the Peace Gardens in Sheffield, for plenty of activities to keeps kids entertained, with fairground rides, games, giant sandpit, visiting dinosaurs and TV/film characters.

Getting to the Sheffield Arena by tram

The Arena/Olympic Legacy Park tram stop is linked to the Arena by its own footpath and is just a two-minute walk to the venue.

Rotherham Parkgate to Sheffield Arena: 

The Tram Train service runs between Rotherham Parkgate and Cathedral in Sheffield city centre and stops at Arena/Olympic Legacy Park tram stop. Journey time is just 13 minutes and then it’s just a short walk from the stop to the venue.

Sheffield train station to Sheffield Arena:

Sheffield Station tram stop is located behind the railway station. Follow the tram signs from the central footbridge and board any tram from the tram platform nearest the station. Get off the tram at the next stop (Fitzalan Square/Ponds Forge) and cross to the opposite platform and get on a Yellow Route tram to Meadowhall or a Tram Train to Rotherham Parkgate. Journey time is 20-30 minutes depending on what time you travel.

Sheffield City Centre to Sheffield Arena:

Board any Yellow route tram towards Meadowhall or a Tram Train service towards Rotherham Parkgate from stops in Sheffield city centre. Journey time is just 11 minutes.

Getting to the Crucible by tram

The Crucible is just a short walk (400m) from Castle Square and Cathedral tram stops which are both served by the Blue, Yellow, and Purple route tram services and the Tram Train service.

Getting to Sheffield City Hall by tram

Sheffield City Hall has its own tram stop on both Yellow (Meadowhall to Middlewood) and Blue (Halfway to Malin Bridge) routes.
