Industrial action affecting rail services

Rail strikes have been announced for Tuesday 21, Thursday 23 and Saturday 25 June 2022. During those days there will be significantly fewer trains running. Any services which do run will only operate between 7am and 7pm. There will also be a reduced service across the network on Wednesday 22, Friday 24 and Sunday 26 June. Due to the limited services running on the rail network please only travel by train if necessary. If you do travel, plan ahead and leave extra time to allow for severe disruption and short-notice changes.

Tram Train.

Due to the industrial action the Tram Train between Sheffield and Rotherham will be unable to operate a normal timetable between Tuesday 21 – Saturday 25 June. .

On Tuesday 21, Thursday 23 and Saturday 25 June, an hourly Tram Train service will operate with the first departure from Cathedral at 7:27am and the first departure from Parkgate at 7:59am. The last departure from Cathedral to Parkgate will be at 5:27pm with the last departure from Parkgate to Cathedral at 5:59pm. .

On Wednesday 22 and Friday 24 June, the first service from Cathedral to Parkgate will be 7:00am and from Parkgate to Cathedral at 7:32am. A normal service will operate thereafter on these days. .

Tram Train services that are unable to serve Rotherham and Parkgate will operate as additional services between Meadowhall Interchange and Cathedral on the Yellow route. .

Plan ahead before you travel:

Buses in the South Yorkshire region will be running a normal timetable but, due to disruption on rail and Tram Train, services may be busier than normal. .
