Sheffield United FC victory parade: Road Closures and Bus Diversions Update

Today, Thursday the 11th of May 2023, an open top bus parade will be taking place in Sheffield, from Bramall Lane to the Town Hall, to celebrate Sheffield United Football Club’s promotion to the Premiership.
The event will run from approximately 17:30 to 20:00 and several road closures will be put in place, with some buses following diversions in the city centre.

Road closures

Some roads in the city centre will be closed between 16:30 and 18:45 to allow for the event setup, crowd build up and while the SUFC open top bus travels from Bramall Lane to the city centre.
The road closures are:

•    Bramall Lane from 16:30
•    Eyre Street roundabout from 17:15 until approximately 18:10
•    Eyre Street from 17:15 until approximately 18:45
•    Arundel Gate from 17:15
Commercial Street (uphill) will always remain open.

Bus Services Diversion

As a result of the parade, traffic, and buses near the ground and through the city centre will be disrupted and there will be substantial delays to many bus services from approximately 16:30 to 18:45.
A number of bus services will be diverted and omit Arundel Gate, Eyre Street and Eyre Street Roundabout and will not serve stops at Fitzwilliam Gate/Moorfoot. Customers are advised to use alternative stops along the route such as in Sheffield Interchange, on Flat Street or Waingate as appropriate.

Services 43 and 44 from Chesterfield will terminate at Sheffield Interchange. Buses which would normally use Bramall Lane will operate via Queens Road.

Customers are advised to check Travel South Yorkshire before they travel and arrange their journey earlier or later to avoid disruption. Operators will try to resume normal service as soon as possible.
