Streets Ahead project
The Streets Ahead project in Sheffield is a Private Finance Initiative (PFI) project to carry out transformation works on Sheffield’s roads, pavements and bridges.
The project includes the improvement and ongoing maintenance of Sheffield's roads, footways, highway trees, traffic signals and street lights.
Works will continue for several years in different areas of Sheffield. The works will be scheduled to keep disruption to a minimum by coordinating with other major projects such as utilities works.
As work is carried out in different areas, there may be some temporary changes to public transport services.
Details of service disruptions will be available in the disruptions section of this website.
There is more information on the Streets Ahead project, including a schedule of works map, available on the Sheffield City Council website.
You can follow the Streets Ahead team on twitter: @sccstreetsahead for updates on scheduled work and follow Travel South Yorkshire on twitter @TSYalerts for disruptions information across the region.
