    Optio bus services

Optio is a partnership between local bus operators in Sheffield which was established in 2011. There are two schemes within the Optio partnership– Optio Red and Optio Orange.

The new Sheffield Bus Partnership will mean changes to travel in Sheffield. Optio services will continue to run, which means:

    • The Optio Red route on service 52 will still be Hillsborough – Crookes – Sheffield – Darnall – Handsworth - Woodhouse – Woodhouse Mill
    • The Optio Orange route on services 42, 44, 120 and 123 will still be Fulwood – Royal Hallamshire Hospital – Sheffield – Crystal Peaks – Halfway
    • You can still buy Optio tickets on these routes. Optio Orange tickets can be used on the Optio Orange route only, and Optio Red tickets can be used on the Optio Red route only.
    • You can also buy the new CityWide tickets if you plan to travel on other buses or trams in Sheffield. Find out more about CityWide tickets.
    • First and Stagecoach Sheffield Day and Week bus-only tickets are accepted on either operators’ Optio Orange and Optio Red services.
