National Walking Month 2019

It’s National Walking Month

Join the annual celebration of walking! There are lots of ways you can get involved and add more walking to your daily routine, be it at work, to school, or around your neighbourhood.

A brisk daily walk is good for your health, reducing the risk of preventable conditions like heart disease, cancer, depression and Type 2 diabetes. Living Streets’ National Walking Month is the perfect opportunity to give more walking a go! Walk for 20 minutes a day during May and experience the health and wellbeing benefits that come from small steps, or #LittleBigChanges!

Don’t forget you can share your walking stories, photos and videos with us using #LittleBigChanges on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

Need some inspiration?

There’s a long list of reasons why you should walk more. But don’t just take our word for it, Traveline supervisor Emily is a big fan and tells us why. Read Emily’s story on our Your Walking Stories page
